NGO Mission & Background:
Janarth is a Voluntary Organisation, active in Gangapur block and urbans of Aurangabad district, Maharashtra , since 1986. Its activities have focused on Women's Issues, Natural Resource Management, Education, Economic & Income generation, Rehabilitation of the Disabled and Warehousing & Marketing Assistance.
NGO Achievements so far:
Janarth's approach in the process of development is an interactive process. Activities are decided through a continuing dialogue with the people, thereby meeting their perceived and articulated needs. An unspoken but conscious effort on our part is to encourage the involvement of women in all the programmes. The programmes are auto targeted towards the poor. No divide was created in the village on the basis of either caste or economic status. This approach continues in our Urban and Disability work also with the addition that greater training inputs are being given to beneficiary groups to empower them with knowledge and skills to fight their own cause. Economic poverty needs answers beyond welfare measures, if poverty reduction is to be kept sustainable.
NGO Future Goals:
Janarth has helped develop the faith and the equal relationships with the people both in the rural and the urban work areas. It has helped in raising the literacy levels in the villages and creating a sustainable environment for continuing education beyond Janarth's presence.
