Welcome to the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Association for India's Development (AID), IncIndia . As we know it today, India is at the threshold of being the next superpower. While her metros and cities are thriving with this newly acquired pulse, there are thousands of villages and small towns that are far removed from this global dream. These are the areas where water, infrastructure, education, health and other basic facilities are a struggle to acquire. Sometimes, even a struggle to the end.
At AID, it is our endeavor to alter this reality, to make a difference. To help realize dreams in ways we can.
The Pittsburgh chapter of AID was started in 1995, 4 years after AID was formed by graduate students at the University of Maryland . Today, the Pittsburgh chapter has about 30 active volunteers participating in various activities ranging from project coordination to planning fund-raisers.
